“The Predator Portfolio editions were created with an unusual process. I wanted the original drawings to remain unaltered, but I wanted to do the prints in color. The original drawings were first photomechanically reproduced. Then I made a series of drawings on separate plates by hand – one for each color to be printed in the final prints – one for bluish-gray and one for brown. These were then printed on top of the black prints. Each print was then individually hand-colored so that each is truly an original and, in subtle ways, each is unique.”
